Flake type shotgun powder. Can be used in some handgun loads. Harder to meter through a powder measure than spherical powders such as W231.

+1 to people thinking its a shotgun powder. I use it for 9, 40, and 45 with great results. I meter it just fine through my Dillon with most drops being right on.

I load 3.5gr under a 125gr plated bullet for a nice mouse fart round.

I used to go through drums of the stuff when reloading shotshells. It used to be called DuPont Hi Skor 700X, but now its owned by Hodgdon. Essentially the same stuff. Go to the Hodgdon website for load data using 700-X for pistols. The flakes are big so be sure you test your powder drops to ensure accuracy and consistency then shoot away.

I never new it was a shotgun powder I have always used it for pistol, static is the biggest problem I find with metering it but I like it and use it for 9mm,40cal,38spcl,and 45acp my glock 21 cycles it just fine when I got a bit under max load

This powder doesn't meter well through my RCBS Uniflow powder measure.

It meters fine in my uniflow measure and my Dillon 650. I used it for shotgun loads years ago(It was Hi-Skor 700-X then) and still had about 20 lbs of it so I started using it in pistol loads long ago. It works just fine. I am down to about 3 lbs of it so I will probably go to Win231 when I stock up again. But give it a try or if you have some you can use it with cofindence.

Most pistol powders are actually primarily shotgun powders. The necessary burn rates for both shotguns and pistols are almost the same. A few are on the upper end of the burn rate and are not listed as a pistol powder, but can be used if you are careful. I found that Titewad (not Titegroup) works as well as Clays for ultra lite recoiling loads at a lower cost than Clays.

I use 700-x for my most accurate .38 special wad cutter loads.

Very clean, I have gone through 12 pounds of it in 5 years.
