    bullet button tool help

I removed the bullets from a few 223 rounds to make my bullet button tools for my AR's. Whats the safest way to discharge the primers? Can i just load the bulletless shells in my AR and pop the primers? Will that damage anything on my AR? i dont see why it would

    thanks

I empty all the powder and let the kids pop them off. Primers are pretty load so we wear ear and eye protection.

I think he means one at a time in the gun. They could be loud so some ear protection is advised. No, no harm to the gun, just a bit of residue like when you shoot regular ammo, good idea to clean it if no other shooting is planned.

Could be considered discharging a firearm.

Give them to someone that reloads.

Yeah we load them one at a time. It's probably not gonna fully cycle your action. The only time we do it is if the case is not safe to load. I think I saw a crack or something after I already primed it.
The 30-30 throws a little flame out the end kinda cool but be safe.

Spraying WD40 in the empty case will work...
