I am not a representative of Polycase, but I have been following them through a friend that is close to the company. First, I can tell you this is by no means liberal ammo (whatever that is). The owner is a retired Army officer and very far to the right politically. I thought it interesting that someone thought that 'Green" is their "selling point", I have never picked up on that. It should be cheaper across the board. I guess the XTPs are higher, but I was told that it should be cheaper in general. Polycase is in no way connected to PCP Ammunition. PCP has been working on rifle ammo for about 3 years. Polycase is doing only pistol ammo for now. They say .45 acp will be ready for SHOT Show in mid-January. I agree with CEDaytonaRydr, this is not the first crack at polymer ammo. However, I am optimistic about this stuff though. From what I understand about previous attempts there was always a problem of the rim separating from the plastic case. I have fired about 100 rounds of Polycase personally and have not had that issue. I haven't even seen any partial separation. The folks in the company have fired thousands and they say there are no issues with tearing away. From what I am told about the proprietary design it is almost impossible to pull the rim from the polymer with the force of an extractor.Comment

back on topic I have shot and still have some 223 that is this "plastic" case. I used it in a bolt action Savage and in a Colt AR. In both instances it shot like crap vs the cheap American Eagle and the Winchester i had at the time. The shots were about 16-18 inches low at 200 yard when compared to the other brass. I also had a few cases get stuck in the chamber, not good. If this stuff is prone to the same sticking many have associated with poly case stuff it would be very bad in a self defense situation. 380 is not all that powerful and follow up shots may be needed to ward off a perp. if the poly case acts up and fails to allow 100% reliable function of the firearm it should remain as target/plinking ammo and not for SD carry.I fear paper cuts far more than firearms.Comment

sigpicMost of the further discussion beyond the clear concise answer is usually people just trying to convince others that the Penal Code/Case Law doesn't really apply because their uncle's friend's cousin's son-in-law works as a gardener for a retired judge from another state who might or might not have said he doesn't think it applies to a certain case that has absolutely nothing to do with the question the OP asked.Comment
