Loaded my first 100 rounds for my garand.

Hornady softpoint 150gr
Varget 44.2
Winchester large rifle primers
50 new brass, 50 pulled brass (never fired).

Grass fertilizer, unless you know what type of powder it is for sure.

Does storing the rounds in the clips for extended periods of time weaken them?

If you can use 50 year old surplus that never left the clips, I doubt leaving them loaded for a little while will hurt.

Looks good. I'm looking for the most cost effective way to reload 30-06. I have two Garands on the way and I'm betting they will be hungry twins. -g

Good luck with the reloads. Just shot my first reloads for my Garand today. 1st load was 150gr Hornady FMJ in front of 47gr of 4895 using once fired HXP brass. 2nd load was 168gr Hornady HP match in front of 46gr of 4895 with once fired HXP brass. I kinda liked the 150's better which surprised me.

When I get around to it, yes. Loading some more 30.06, opening the primers holes on military brass is like a full time job.

I'm sure your loads are fine, but if the soft points don't work for you try the Hornady plastic tip bullets. I use them for my Garand and they work great!

I got some 168gr amax I'm gonna load for 1000 yards.
