CCi41 primers manditory for AR15s?

I reloaded for AR15s for a long time before the CCI41 primers came out and never had a slam fire but I have read that the hardened primers should be used for AR15s due to the momentum of the long firing pin possibly setting off softer cup primers. I know the 41 primer is harder because my Mini Mauser .223 sporting rifle is iffy setting them off whereas it will handle regular small rifle primed ammo (and factory ammo) with no problems although some military ammo also give it ignition issues.

Who is using regular small rifle primers in their ARs with no issues?

Nah....I use CCI #200 with no problems. I use 62 gr M855 with H335 or WC844. Not against CCI #41, but YMMV. I'll use whatever is available.

No mandatory for today's AR. But CCI #41 is a very good primer.

I have been using winchester, cci 400's, and Tula magnums with no problems.

I've settled on 450 primers for a long time. Hard cup like the 41. And makes for clean burning with ball powders and tight SD.

And not that much more than 400 primers. Being magnum, the load must be worked up.

I use Rem 7.5 or Wolf/Tula small rifle magnum, KVB556.

Works well with Varget, R15, and 8208XBR.
