    reloading blanks

Just got a text from a friend that found an ammo can with two 100 round belts of 30-06 blanks while cleaning an abandoned house. Can these be used to reload live ammo for my garand?

I don't know the answer, but I also have 30-06 blanks from when my grandfather did military 21 gun solutes... the brass appears to be normal brass with a "plug" in the case neck and based on comparing the fired ones that I also have I would think you can.

Physically, yes they can be reloaded -- but -
Some 06 blanks are reloaded once fired ammo -
Some 06 blanks were made from reject cases -
Most 06 blanks are perfectly good brass -
problem is -- knowing which is which --
If in original packing, there may be a clue --
      my tuppence --

Blanks I trained with in the Marines are not reloadable. Crimps are not worth the trouble removing, even if possible. Buy reloadable brass.

I haven't seen the brass yet but he just told me no crimp, they are plugged with an epoxy type material.

I had a bunch of 30-06 once fired both commercial and hxp. My 14 yo son wanted something to do so I had him resize some commercial 30-06 I had set aside into 8mm Mauser. Well, he resized ALL my commercial into 8mm leaving me around 150 hxp for 30-06. Can't blame the kid for trying to help.
