New Lee Trimmer

anyone check out the 2013 lee catalog yet? The Quick Trim is finally coming out. I'm sure there will be wild opinions on the item, but I'm still gonna ask.

I think this would be a great tool in a classic turret. Put a lube/decap die, sizing die and the case trimmer in a turret head and you get a sweet brass prep combo.

What do you guys think of the idea?

my only question is how does it get rid of the shavings, what is a snap on chip catcher?

I might get one and use it on the dillon, if there was a chip catcher. I might rig one up. For 20 bucks instead of 240...yes please.

Hey...that looks pretty cool. I'm imagining it with a drill chuck on it and a drill press (or similar) sitting right over the reloading press. If this thing's as good in practice as it looks, you'd be able to go through cases really fast.

From the picture it looks like the chip catcher is a black plastic piece that snaps onto the shell holder. I'm assuming the chips are supposed to fall through the die body, into the chip catcher. It'll be interesting to see if the die body ends up filling up with chips, making occasional dis-assembly necessary to clean out the chips. Interesting design though, might have to get one to try out. Looks like you have to buy the cutter ($20) and die body ($11/rifle $15/pistol) separately.

Id be interested if i could mount my drill. But if i cant its faster to use my stand alone trimmer
