How's my Reload-Fu OB1?

My first batch of .45 Autos.
Winchester brass from Brassmanbrass.
Montana Gold from Irvington Arms.
Winchester primer from Irvington Arms (not used yet).
Winchester 231 powder from Irvington Arms (not used yet).

I think I got the bullet seating down since they match the factory Remingtons (copper bullet).

What concerns me is I don't see a noticeable crimp on my brass (gold bullet).
The Remingtons have a very faint crimp about 1/4'' below the lip (barely noticeable bulge).

Looks like the belling is still on the cases. Have you chamber checked? You are using the checklist I gave you, yes?

You don't need to "crimp" for .45, but you do need to remove the belling from the cases. Screw the crimp die down until it touches the bullet when the ram is engaged, lower (or raise depending on press) the ram and screw another 1/4 turn to 1/2 turn to remove the belling.

If you "press Check" the rounds, pushing against a hard surface from the base of the bullet, the heads shouldn't drop in or "setback" more than .005"s.

Also, try and stick with one type of bullet for each recipie. Looking the same and being the same are two different things when it comes to bullets and their cannelure (sp).

Re-adjusted my crimp die and I think I'm good to go with actually using primers and powder now since the belling is gone.

Chamber check ok, slide in and out the barrel just fine like my factory Remingtons. The base of the case seats the same as my factory Remingtons in the barrel.

They all measure within +/- .005.

Press checked all my rounds, all passed.

Been doing everything according to the checklist...

Think I'll actually show up to the Saturday practice since I have ammo now....
