Reloading data for 168 gr AMAX and 2000MR

I am looking for reloading data to load 308 Winchester with Hornady 168 gr AMAX and Alliant 2000MR. Alliant reloading data only has AR Comp for this Hornady bullet. Could I use the reloading data for 168 gr SMK with the 2000MR powder?

Use the same data, Alliant's lists the max so reduce by 5-10% and work up

Same as in "use the AR Comp" data or "use the 168 gr SMK" data?

The bullets are actually pretty different profile wise but I use the data interchangably.

Yes, I use 168gr SMK data for 168 AMAX data, generally Alliant and Hodgdon data is where I look to start. I have found the Hornaday Book data on 308 Win to be so conservative it almost doesn't make sense using it.

I interchange 168gr SMK and Amax bullets using Alliant's and Hodgdon's data with no issues. Depending on the rifle, the Amax likes to be seated out further due to the pointy nose which moves the ogive further back.

2000MR is supposed to be between RL-15 and RL-17 in burn rate making it a bit slow, it may beat up a gas gun if you get carried away. I would think it would do better in larger cases.
