Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

You won't save a cent. You'll end up spending a little more and shooting a lot more.

This, most likely you wont save anything. With the start up cost and all the components. Plus you will shoot 2 times more than you already have.

so there can be savings, but youre guys points are what im concerned with the start up cost and the fact that it will make me shoot twice as much making it not worth it..

I cast, so I reload for... what... $50 per 1,000.

Equipment can run you... $250 if you go cheap progressive.

You can go even cheaper... down to $180 if you go with a decent single-stage setup (minus powder thrower, which you don't 100% need).

This right here. Even after you have your equipment money going out every month for your reloading hobby will be a bit more than what you used to spend, but you'll have a lot more ammo. If you can control yourself and not shoot up that ammo then I guess you could save quite a bit....but seriously like that's going to happen.

If you like to shoot and stockpile ammo, reloading is the way to go. Besides you will be saving a lot of money on ammo. P.S. start saving your brass.

Startup costs can be high; but I reload now for about 60% of retail approx.

You aren't just shooting more like me? I used to top out at 100 rounds of pistol. Now I'm up at 300 per visit sometimes.

I personally got started on a cheap lee breech lock press. Got the kit for just over 100 bucks. Got some dies and was ready.

I have loaded close to 3000 rounds on it with no issues.

But what I suggest is getting a turret press. Ability to load single stage, but once you get the hang of it you can start pumping out a bunch of rounds.
