5.56 / .223 brass question…

There shouldn't be a problem. For my AR, I use the RCBS small base dies. I use the regular FL dies for my other 223 loads. There may be less volume in the 5.56 cases. Make sure you take it easy with the max loads. -
I have measured all my case max capacities using the powder I load with so I do take that into account.
Case trim to about 1.750…
Most published load data is based on the .223 SAAMI max anyways, so I don’t think those max loads should be any problem.ExtremeXComment

Shouldn't be an issue. I recently just shot some LC 09 brass using max published loads without any pressure signs or changes to case integrity. I forgot my chrony that day so tomorrow I'm going to shoot the same loads and gather some data.
My bolt guns are loaded 2.260" OAL or greater.
Start low and go slow.
The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

You will probably come to find max loads do not produce the best accuracy. So once you find the load your BA likes, it will be under max and fine to load with 5.56 brass. A lot of my accuracy loads I load with 7.62 brass and only neck size them and load well under max, they shot just as good as high end brass for non competition purposes.se carga el diablo de la pistola...
