I have loaded a few calibers with AP headstamps. Works fine.Comment

Armscor = fine.
Amerc = not fine...When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."Comment

I don't accept his findings as gospel, but could be another perspective.
Note though that he is only using two brass cases as his sampling for his Average Number of Firings Before Failure (ANBF) test.-Colin

I have never found a single piece of Amerc brass that was worth reloading. Every time I have been running along loading .45ACP and have a problem with the brass it has been Amerc. It is always waaaay too soft and waaaay too thick.

As for his conclusion it is Winchester, he has to be looking at different brass than I have encountered with this headstamp because the difference is night and day.
But if you want to find out for yourself, please load away...Last edited by Bill Steele; 10-09-2012, 9:35 PM.When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."Comment

There seem to be numerous people saying blanket statements like "A-Merc is crap" or "all of them are not worth reloading", most everyone I find that actually tried reloading the 9mm cases state they work fine, much the same as the article I linked. In fact a different article from the same sight, shows the testing of 25 different 9mm headstamps including both A-Merc cases by Olin and AA's own. The Olin ones apparently came out on top while AA's own came in at the 56th percentile. However, there is no denying AA's deplorable reputation on their .45 cases.I have never found a single piece of Amerc brass that was worth reloading. I assumed that same headstamps on different calibers would have similar performance, I'm now coming to a realization that maybe that is not always the case, maybe AA makes average quality 9mm cases but crappy .45 cases.
Sorry for jacking the thread that in the end proved not much helpful for the OP.-Colin

Seriously, if someone shoots it at the range and I pick it up, it gets reloaded. Have I reloaded Armsco brass? I dunno, probably!
I'm not proud, I'll pick up your scraps any time!==================
