I bought the little kit from Midway. Used a cordless drill, works fine. I have 3 batches of Test Brass in 30-06. On my 5th reload w/ the same brass. Testing still in progress.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

The grain structure for cartridge brass 70/30 changes at about 250C/482F. Your middle mark should be using 450-475F indicating material. As you do not want that to be annealed.

I use Tempilaq 650 ans put a line about 1/4 inch down from the shoulder, then I use a Lee Case Trimmer Lock Stud with Holder to hold the case in the drill during annealing. After the Tempilaq starts melting I dunk in water to cool the case and clean off the Tempilaq.

What I have found with my 30-06 cases is after 4-5 firings the groups will start to open up, telling me the neck tension is going south. After I anneal the necks the groups tighten right back up. I'm working on my 3 annealing on my 100 original cases. I also bump back the shoulder after annealing if I don't the bolt get hard to open and close. I use a feeler gauge and set the shell holder to .05 inch below the die!
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.
