Best "All Around" powder

Been trying to figure out a good "all around" rifle powder. I shoot .223, and a bunch of milsurp calibers: .303, 7.62x54, 30-06 (m1 garand), and 8mm. Also wanted something that would meter well out of an RCBS uniflow. Was thinking about H4895, which apparently has smaller stick granules than IMR. Would love a spherical powder (meters well) which is pretty common for .223, but I have heard that they are not quite as good in those big milsurp rifle cases, in addition to needing mag primers. I don't need microscopic groupings at hundreds of yards, just something solid, reliable, and reasonably accurate. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

For plinking .223/.308/.3006 I've used ram TAC with reasonable success. Meters like a champ in uniflow, almost .1gr increments per dash on the micrometer adjustment

Call me boring but Ive used IMR-4895 for 223, 32 special, 3040 krag, 270, 30-06. Been pretty satisfied with it - is it "the best", I don't know. Depending on your interpretation of metering well, my experience with IMR is that after 20 throws (following 3 measured consistent throws) I may be off by 0.1 0.2 grains, doesn't take much from the trickler to make up the difference. If I owned a garand it would be the only powder that I used for it.

My favorite for 223 too. I have 8lb kegs of it. 25.5gr behind a SMK 53HP shoots less than 3/4 MOA out of my Armalite Ts. 25grs behind SMK 69BTHP does the same out of all my 223 rifles bolt or gas. For some reason IMR4895 is just easy to develop good loads for me and the results from lot to lot stays the same.

This is what im playing with right now...

H4895 is next on my list to try with .223 and .308

I also use H335, but have not tried them yet in .308 loads.

+1 for WW748. Works in many rifle calibers and is very cheap and easy to find.

I have no experience loading .223, but for everything else on that list H4895.

You might want to look into Varget, it's pretty versatile.
