    RCBS X die issues

I have been using the X die and have about 1500 rounds through it. My last session it has failed to decap about 5 rounds out of 250. The pin is not broken and it is adjusted properly. I don't understand how it is possible for the die to come down all the way and for it not to decap the case without the pin breaking off. Any ideas?

Decapping pin is pulling the primer back up into the shell. Try grinding/file the end of the decaping pin.

Just take a small strip of emery cloth and clean the pin by see-sawing it on exposed part of the pin.

yah what post 2 said, the pin gets stuck in the anvil and pulls it back in to the pocket.

I get this a lot when decaping 45 acp with small primers

I used a dremel to get rid of the rounded part of the pin makeing the surface of the pin that contacts the anvil a little bigger keeping it from getting stuck

I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.
