    I love reloading but…

It’s burning a fat hole in my pocket haha… I’m spending more on ammo now than I ever did before…

Not only do I make more ammo than I would typically buy, I shoot more of it. On top of that I just want to keep adding more equipment to the bench…

On the upside… I am less interested in constantly wanting to buy more guns… I am just reloading and enjoying what I have.

On the downside… I need more guns… Reloading has made me a bigger fan of revolvers and bolt actions rifles only because my brass doesn’t go flying all over the place.

    It’s a vicious endless cycle…

It definently is, I went from only wanting to spend about 250 to begin, now I am probably spending about 200 bucks a month on equipment and components. Now I got everything I need for a while, so Im saving for a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm. I have reloaded so much 9mm (on a single stage) that it fills a ammo can.

Its funny how you think ohh well I'll just buy this and be ok and will stick to this one caliber. Boy was I wrong, I went on to reload for my hunting rifle, 308 and now my ar 223.

I've got an idea. Stop spending money on reloading for a while. Instead, invest in a new hobby or two. Have you ever considered casting or swagging? They are two hobbies that will make your reloading hobby less expensive since, you won't have to buy bullets.

Come on, just try it this one time. You won't get hooked. I promise.

            i feel your pain.

i have a problem stemming from reloading as well. i don't have a WTF gun and every time i shop for components i find myself researching 500 S&W...

Whenever I buy new guns nowadays I always buy a caliber I don't currently have just to be able to load for a new caliber.

                Ya' gotta' set a bugget

$100 per paycheck on reloading, $50 on cigars...

just like your house hold, 400 for rent, 200 for gas, 40 for cell phone

I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

I get what ur saying… before reloading I never considering anything really exotic or different… Ammo price and availability was a concern… Things like match ammo and less common calibers are very expensive when looking at retail prices.

Same here, and it does strangely satisfy the need to keep buying a new gun every month. Weird!

It's not stopping my interest in wanting to but guns at all because now I want to have precision rifles that will show me what my ammo is really doing. Before I was just plinking but now it is all precision all the time. Not too mention buying good optics.

I'm in that exact boat. I had a plan and budget of things needed to start, and with every 50 rounds I turn out, I learn I should be buying more and more stuff...hahah

I should probably rephrase or elaborate on what I said... I still have interest in other guns, but I am pretty content reloading for what I already have, because I have precision rifles, bolt guns, match grade ARs, and spent a good deal of money where it matters, triggers, optics, and other various item… but to be honest, I RARLY purchased good quality ammo to shoot due to cost. When I did, it was a real treat, but I was never able to shoot the good stuff on a regular basis.

Basically I never really took advantage of what I already had, and reloading opened a lot of doors now that I experiment with a lot of different bullets and loads. I am basically re-discovering my existing collection, and I am really happy with that I see in terms of performance/accuracy. It somewhat suppress the urge to keep buying random things. I usually spend my time shopping for reloading components and other related items vs shopping for guns.

Now that I reload, I would love to add a revolver and bolt gun or two, only because they don’t throw brass all over the range. So it’s somewhat molding my collection in a different direction, but I am in no rush to get anything new at the moment.
