Need advice on reloading 308

That's a really good deal. I think ill jump on that. so since you can see what the kit comes with, what else do i need besides dies, case holder....of course powder primer brass bullets. I want to order it all from them at once

I assume you just want standard dies, so here is what PSA has for .308 / RCBS to help meet the $300

You might want to buy those locally if you are starting out.

Even buying one small jug of powder or box of primers you will have to pay $27.50 in Hazmat fees. Once you know what you want, but components in bulk, and buy online.

i bought a rock chucker supreme master reloading kit and i LOVE it. has everything you need except dies, shell holder and trimmer. it comes with a 5 0 5 scale and that thing is about as good as it gets for reasonably priced scales and you don't have the problems that come with electronic scales.

rcbs is also giving a $50 rebate on 300+ in purchases so that kit only actually cost me 250 (or if you want to look at it this way the dies/shell holder were included for the 300)

i like the forster trimmer (is what my dad used so that's what i got) and yes, the trickler is very nice to have makes charging a lot faster/easier)

oh...very important, build yourself a nice bench. lumber is cheap and if you know someone with saws it's really easy to make and you can find plans online. a solid bench will make life a lot easier in the long run and you can build it for 60 or less if you build from raw lumber


whichever dies you buy get the same brand shell holders

I would use the Foster or RCBS trimmer only if I could use it with the power adapter...

CTS attached direct to a drill, like a drill bit. I can speed thought a bunch of cases and still get good accurate cuts...

The CTS was a cheaper and faster option for me.

Reloading rocks!!!! I use primarily Lee, and would like to upgrade to RCBS, but the Lee works so well...I figure why fight it?

BTW, you'll never buy new ammo again. I've been reloading 30-06, .308, 7.62x39, 9mm, .40 S&W, and .357 Mag. Can't stand new stuff. I love the feel of what "I created"...

+1 on the Lees Classic Turret even though i dont use the auto index very much it is nice to not have to take out the dies each time you move to a new step. I bought a lyman powder dispenser which works way better than the one that comes with the lee set, and a frankford arsenal $30 scale, yet i would like to buy a nice beam scale for rifle reloading (little bit more anal bout accuracy). I thought i would upgrade to a better press once i started liking reloading more but the lee works fine.

Reload for .30-06, .308, .223, .380, 38 Special, 357 Mag, 44 Special, 44 Mag, 9mm, .40 cal and Some Shotshell Reloading "really fun"
