i orded 1000 55 gr 223 pull downs from fsreloading and was suprised when i recieved them that about half of them are out of round. ive used thousands of pulldowns in 223 and 308 and have never seen them oval like these, im guessing they didnt resize them after pulling. should i waste more money to ship them back or is it possible to buy a 223 bullet sizing die from lee and use it to size fmj bullets. i paid $55 plus about $14 for shipping

i bought 500 of the 62 grain pulldowns from FS and didnt have any that looked bad, but now that you are saying this im going to have to go back and look at them because honestly i wasnt paying that much attention, plus im fairly new to reloading. i think the rounds that we tested from the first batch worked well. cant beat the price on those pulldown bullets.Comment

Damn. I thought they would be a little out of round.
One option would be to get a swaging die. There are kits that turn 22lr brass into fmj .224 bullets. The last die in that kit is probably what you need. I don't know what type of press you have but it needs a strong single stage press.
In the end it is probably more than $69Last edited by M27; 09-09-2012, 5:46 PM.I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.Comment
