    Disposing of powder

I saw a thread on here asking about re-using powder from pulling bullets from loaded rounds. Not all of which was clearly labeled. Generally consensus was toss it, not worth the risk. Makes sense but then I got to thinking, how does one dispose of questionable, old, etc. powder? Straight into the trash? Someone said fertilizer, would that be safe? Prudent?

    Thanks,

if you are close i will take all you have! Otherwise spread it out on your lawn and water it.

Spread on lawn. Water will not nuetralize powder. when it dries, it can still be flamable. But, spread it out to the point that the powder kernels are far enough apart and there shouldn't be a problem.

Be careful of how you burn it off if you decide to go that route. Didn't someone that was on Calguns actually die of burns because he threw powder on a BBQ to dispose of it? This might not be true, but I thought I read that.

If I were to get rid of questionable powder I'd just spread it around the lawn.

I heard of just spreading it on the lawn, although I dont really see how it does anything.

im worried I'll burn my garden with the high nitrogen content. I sprinkle it in my compost bin and water in.

And hol-eeee moly. What a nitrogen source! check back on that in 3 days and tell me if you like it.
