I must have close to 20 , i always cross reference when i start a new cartridge . for pistol rounds i found i can really trust the lyman for cast , i use the sierra alot and a lee , hornady and the imr website. I wont use data from users on the net or shoot reloads other than my own.

I shoot mostly Sierra bullets in my rifles so that's my go to manual. The data is usually on the light side which is good since I don't load anything hot except the occasional 223 bolt gun load.

Hodgdon puts out a magazine every year that has their current data in it. You can also use their website for the same info. The Lyman book is good. The Speer and Nosler books seem to be on the light side compared to others. Use as many as you can.

I use Lyman 47th and 49th. You would think the 49th had all the loads the 47th did and then some but I have found a couple in the 47th that are not in the 49th. I have heard the Lee book is good too but I don't have one yet.

I have Lee's Modern Reloading, Lyman 48, Speer 9 and 14. I am certain that I'll pick up more.

I think I probably use my Lee book more than any other single book. It has a ton of loads and is a great place to start when researching a new load. I just bought Hornaday's latest as I am loading a lot of Hornaday bullets lately. The powder manufacturers web sites are excellent places to find loads on popular calibers using popular bullets (like Sierra, Speer, etc.).

I like Lymans 49th. Good introduction and pretty solid on load data.

Lyman's.... Then cross reference with Speer, powder websites, bullet websites, or personal load data from trusted sources

I actually mostly use Quickload software, and then I will bounce the results of that off of the current Lyman's book (I believe it's 49th), and if it's something really new or oddball, I'll do the typical load ups in .2 grain increments and run them through the chrono to make sure that the software is spitting out relatively accurate data vs. the book.

I really like the software since there are visual representations of what is "happening" with each load, and I am more of a visually oriented person. I mostly load range ammo as opposed to match grade, so I usually run light, but I have started to do some specialized stuff so I have to be very careful, and I will always triple check all recipes.

I use data from Lymans and work up from there.

Speer 11, Lyman 47, Sierra 5, plus loadbooks for certain calibers. I just like reading 'em!

I have many but the Lyman book is the first choice. I hate the self-promoting and put down all others text of the lee book but the data is good.

HOWEVER if you are loading Barnes bullets be sure to get the Barnes book as data is different for Barnes bullets vrs other brands since they are all copper. The Hornady GMX can use the same data as other lead core bullets of the same weight. The Nosler non-lead bullet uses the mid-range lead core Nosler data as max due to no relief grooves in the bullet.
