165 GMX range test

When and test some lead free loads today. GMX 165, Fed brass, Fed 210M, 44.0gn RL-15, FPS 2800-2820, COAL 2.82". 5 shot group was surprise how accurate these were at 100 yards.

This is what I got with Barns 168 TSX over 43.5gr Varget. They really liked the .050" jump as recommended by Barns. Only problem, they were 2.960" or so in my rifle so they can only be single fed.

I am having the same problem with by old R700BDL, I now have a single shot to achieve the accuracy I want.

Thank you for posting this! This is the next round I will be loading up and in FC brass as well. I notice it's right at the max in the Hornady 8th, did you find this to be a maximum load? Trying to draw some correlations between FC and Hornady brass and loads in A-Max, Match and GMX.

I would work up to this load. I also was shooting 178 Amax same length 44.0 gn of RL15. averaging 2825. But it was also 100F outside. Both showed signs of flatten primer and cratering.

Thank you. You got 44g of RL15 into FC brass with a 178? That's 2.6 over max in the book, there goes that theory...
