help with a new dillion SDB

Let me first say I am brand new to reloading. And recently purchased a used SDB on kind of an impulse buy.Its was a good deal I guess but its not complete and I dont know where to go from here. Do I send it dillion and have them set it up for me? I dont know anyone in my area who has one to copy.
    Thanks

sending it to Dillon sounds like your best bet. but the SDB is cheap enough that i would have just bought a brand new one. just my .02c

You can download the manual from their website and then just order whatever is missing.

Ordering the the little parts can get pricey. I just got a 650 in need of repairs. I spent 200 on missing parts already. Lucky, I got it for cheap.

Well its a little late for that some deals are too good to be true.

I have already downloaded the manual and read enough to see that I need more than just one thing so sending it in might be my best bet and by the time I am done it will probably be close to the price of a new one but it least it should be like new.

I'm in Marin, not that close, but better than nothing. I have a SDB setup, and you are welcome to have a look at it. They are not very complicated, so it probably wouldn't be hard to figure out what you need. PM me if you think this will be helpful.

You can always give Dillon a call, they are very helpful over the phone. Also, might check to see if they have a instruction video. I know they have one for the 550 and 650. Basically the video goes through the installation, setup, and a how to on reloading from start to finish. Best $6 I spent when I bought my 650. Goes that one step further than reading the manual.

Only down fall is that it was only offered on VHS, but I will be converting the video to avi or mpgs for viewing on the computer. Later to DVD.

you tube has some great videos..

check it out.. there is a great one on the dillon 550. i dont reload yet but he shows step by step how to piece it together and shows how everything works and why. maybe someone did the same for sdb's?

                      Ship it to Dillon
For the cost of getting it there plus $29.95 they will overhaul it, replace any worn out or missing parts and ship it back to you factory fresh.
I have done this twice on SDB's I bought on e-bay. The second time I just had the seller ship it directly to Dillon. About 3 weeks after the sale, I had a cleaned working SDB.

Dillon is the best. Second to none.

I just got off the phone with Dillion and got a rma#. They now charge 39.95 for the overhaul and it includes return shipping. Sending it in does seem like the best bet.But other than the missing parts in seems to be in great shape. Then I can take up one of the generous ofers from calgun mebers to come see their SDB in action.
