Shell holders for a Lee hand-primer?

I have been priming using the bench press for a few years. Decided to get a Lee handprimer to speed things up (though they caution to wear saftey glasses in event of accidental kaboom)
Why would my existing Lee shell holders NOT fit a new Lee hand primer?

The top half of the holder fits in the primer tool but the bottom half was to big. Is there a separate type of holder for a handprimer? ... which sounds crazy to me. I dremeled out the walls of the tool to get the holder to slide in, but it still hits the back wall before centering.

You may have messed it up. You should've asked BEFORE dremeling. Its OK though because the bodies are cheap to buy. The handles will break after 10k rounds or so too. Stock up on some extra parts.

Yes they make the shell holders for the priming tool without that bottom extension that locks into the press. That's one of the biggest criticisms of the Lee hand priming tool, special shell holders.

I have two, one set up for large primers and one for small primers. One of them I've had since 1981 and have primed 10s of thousands of rounds on.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I guess I should read those "see suggested products at top" messages closer that Midway gives you when adding certain items to your shopping chart. I must have skim read the suggestion as "shell holders" and said yeh, I got those. I'll probably order a second primer with the holder set to have both a large and small setup.

i use a lee hand primer, the only reason i got the lee is because the rcbs wasnt in stock. they work fine, but the rcbs is a lot easier on your hand if you prime a big batch of cases at one time.

Redding also has a new hand primer but I haven't played with one yet.

I'd suggest wearing safety glasses anytime you're priming.

yes the rcbs is a better unit, i kick back in the easy chair in front of the tube (at least till the new digatal sh*t cut's me out) and watch the news, and just work away can easly do a couple thousand in a night.

yes i reload that much, but not every night. i wait for a big stock pile before starting up anything.
