Really easy lube method

I spent a long time searching different lube methods yesterday and tried a few - in my opinion the worst was the factory supplied lube pad, complete junk. I have to agree with quite a number of people who claim the ziploc bag method is the easiest and cleanest. My only concern is that is does not put much lube inside the neck. I ran 500 of my .223 cases last night and all were as smooth as butter on the way out of the sizing die and none had excess lube.

- Mix up some RCBS (or Lee) case lube with Iso rubbing alcohol 50%/50%

- Take a large (10"x10") ziploc bag and put half a teaspoon of the lube mix in

- Seal the bag and squidge it until the lube is spread around

- Add 100 cases and mix them around for 2 or 3 minutes

- Remove the cases and stand them in shell trays to dry for a few minutes

- After drying a perfectly distributed even & thin layer of lube is left on every case

I just read a thread about having stuck cases. Am now worried that this method is not leaving enough lube. Worked for me and no problems with hydro dents which was last weeks issue for me.

12 pumps of Dillon spray lube.
Shake vigorously.
Scoop into casefeeder.

I hate the lube pad too.. I am going to try this. Thanks for posting it!

Pretty much the same idea here, except I use a bread pan and no case feeder...

I just throw a bunch of brass in a cardboard box a few sprays of rcbs case slick, shake box around, a few more sprays, shake again, spray and shake. Let sit while I set up press and go.

The trick I use was posted here awhile back, maybe by sargentv.

Big ziplock baggie. Put in brass, spray in some Hornady One-Shot, zip up & roll around for a minute. Dump in Casefeeder. It works for me. A lot easier to store a ziplock than a nasty box!

This is what I found but the difference I did was to use the 'gloopy' lube designed for use on the pads and thinned it out with the Iso rubbing alcohol. That makes it much closer to the light spray lube I think.

The bag method is the winner for me - totally clean as no dirt gets onto the brass (that would be my concern using a cardboard box) and lube doesn't get splattered everywhere which my previous efforts have suffered from.

A baking pan(or cardboard box)---put a layer(or more) in it and spray with RCBS Slick Case Lube----shake---one more light spray and start resizing or pour into case feeder.
For my single stage presses I use a little gismo from MTM with 3 brushes and a mica tray to lube the inside of the necks when needed or a Imperial Application Media container with dry lube made by Redding Reloading Equipment.
This works very well(the best for me) for everything from 204Ruger to 50bmg and the hard to resize brass that was shot out of a full-auto firearm.

Do you tumble the lube off after your resize?

No, there is such a fine film of lube that it wipes off on your fingers when reloading. If I wanted perfect clean a simple single wipe with a rag would leave the case completely clean.
