    Cleaning seat/crimp die

    Anyone have any tips on cleaning the blue lube out of the seat and crimp die? Getting pretty goopy up there..

    Brake cleaner but make sure to coat with some light lube.

        You can use hair dryer set on high. It'll be enought to soften up the built up gunk to scrape off. The use a small diameter bottle brush to do a final cleaning. Just remember to keep the die hot with the dryer.

          you can also use mineral spirits, rubbing alcohol, and/or a nylon bore brush to clean it as you would a barrel. Mine gets pretty nasty at times from tumble lubing my boolits, and has to be cleaned out. Sometimes I'll just take a q-tip with some mineral spirits or alcohol and start swabbing.

            If it's an ongoing problem look into Dillon's dies. They come apart with the simple removal of a pin and are very easy to clean. You don't even have to remove the die from the press in order to clean it.
