ended up 23.5 gr under a 40gr Nosler for my Mini 14. 4895 is a very popular .223 powder

Isnt it a bit slow for a semi? 4895 is more of an classic slow powder, great in 308,.30, 7mm,8mm, etc.

It is a great bolt-gun powder.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

                4895

It works just fine, start at the bottom and work up unless you find that your starting load does everything you want. It is probably not possible to get enough IMR 4895 into a 223 case to cause dangerous pressures but don't quote me on that. You may be happier with H335, especially if you load on a progressive.

I bought a 20lb can of 4895 for $160 so I have been using it for several different cals.
