Ok i want to start reloading.

I want to reload .223 .

I'm on a super tight budget and want a single stage rockchucker, I think I have a good idea what I want to make and I like the idea of making it myself.
I'll be reusing once fired brass, and I want a 62gr V-Max bullet. I could use some input on a decent powder and primer. Also what tools I'll need, a good die set and maybe some help with best quality/lowest price brands.

I saw a deal for the press and various tools, is that everything I'd need ?

Most of those kits dont come with calipers, tumbler or a bullet puller, All of which arent necessary but help alot. If nothing else id at least get a cheap pair of calipers.

For powder i like IMR 4895 or Varget and for primers i get the cheapest i can find. Usually wolf or tula.

If you plan on loading match ammo id spend a little more on some higher quality components, if its for range ammo just go to town with the cheaper stuff.

For dies i prefer LEE because of the price, but RCBS dies are much better quality but it comes at a price. I dont know that it would make a noticeable difference on your ammo.

Not match ammo at all, just an upgrade from the bulk FMJ on my pmc. I really like hornady Tap62gr , so I want to get some of the performance of that round out of my reloads. The bullet is really accurate. I guess I want my reloads to be versatile. Plink , 200 yards max . Hunt. Personal Defense. I already have a scale and a good caliper. I'm picking up some powder and V-Max's this weekend.

For under $400, you could get an RCBS RockChucker Supreme Master Kit, a set of RCBS dies for .223 (buying both at the same time puts you at about $330, which qualifies you for their $50 rebate for buying $300 worth of RCBS products, so you're effectively at $280 at this point), a good set of calipers and a tumbler. This is everything you need, and then some, to load great ammo.

Then, all that's left is brass, bullets, powders and primers.

Got some info for you, within the first 100rds you will be making match grade ammo if you take your time a pay attention to detail.

Don't forget to get a reloading manual It answered a lot of my questions on what I needed, how to's, etc. I can recommend Lyman #49 and/or Speer # 14

In all honesty you can use some of the cheapest stuff out there and make better quality ammo than you can buy in the store.

I wont try to talk you out of the rockchucker but the Lee kit is $109. I still have mine and use it all the time. If your on a budget this will leave alot of spare room.
