    case lube

Trying to figure out which case lube works best. Hornady One Shot I hear is pretty good as well as the Dillon case lube.

    Thoughts?

If it matters, I will be using a Dillon XL650 Press

So far I've been quite happy with Hornady One Shot. Used to use RCBS lube which worked really well but was messy. On the plus side the RCBS lube makes a really good release for bedding rifle stocks.

i use dillon, its not messy at all, it doesnt put luve dents in the cases, plus its a pump spray, not aerosol, so you dont fumigate yourself

        I Use....................................

..............STP. Bought a quart 40 years ago and still have most of a quart left. That stuff is slicker than snot and easy to apply. I use a Q-tip to lube the inside of the neck and a cotton ball or a paper towel for the outside. Put a very small dollop on the Q-tip and cotton ball/paper towel and set aside for awhile to allow the STP to spread itself before using. After sizing, any excess can be removed with a paper towel.

When you drop powder into a lubed case, some granules will stick to the case neck and give you a light charge weight when poured out. Use a case that has not been lubed to verify charge weight.

Imperial. The best I've used, period.

            I use Dillon's. No issue.

Lube is only needed when full-length size, right? You don't need to lube if all you are doing is "neck-sizing". Am I correct?

hornady one shot works good. but you have to know how to use it. what i do is take a zip lock bag. put the shells in. Then spray in the bag. now zip it up. shake the bag really good so they all get covered. Then i open the bag and pull them out one at a time as i size them.

One Shot is OK. Imperial Sizing Wax is all I'll use on 50BMG brass though. Imperial is second to none!

I now use dillon, like jandmtv said, it is in a pump bottle so you dont have to "huff" the fumes, and it is not messy like the rcbs is. Just my 2 cents.

Which caliber? Found imperial wax as the top notch lube for 338LM and above. For 308 and below, any case lube will work. Tried Dillon, Hornady, and RCBS and found RCBS as my favorite lube.

Imperial sizing wax is the best but I hate using any lubes where I have to apply it by hand individually to the cases. It takes longer to lube and clean cases than it does for the rest of the loading.

The ease of Hornady Oneshot trumps everything else.

One Shot, Zip Lock bag. Spray, shake and dump in case feeder. I even give my pistol brass a light hit. Saves arm fatigue, plus makes the press run much smoother.

I like the idea of a zip lock bag and using one shot to mix it all around. I'll give that a try.

                          Thanks all.

                            Dillon....

I take the dillon and spray it on a RCBS Pad I let it evaporate a bit and start rolling my cases and sizing them I will use half the pad for a while maybe 75-100cases then I turn it around and use the other half and respray the side I just used so it's ready for me when I need it No fuss no muss
