    Help please, having die problem

first off id like to say im new to reloading so this may be a simple answer. my buddy let me borrow his dies and they worked fine, today i bought some dies which are a totally different brand (not that that has anything to do with it, hopefully) and it is really hard to pull the lever down to deprime, and after about 7 rounds i got a case stuck up in the die because the shell holder ripped the bottom sleeve off the case. sorry if this doesn't make sense just a little frustrated. yes the dies are marked with 30-06 so i know they are correct. im lost any help please.

All of the die companies make a gizmo called a stuck case remover; but no sense spending money on something you'll only use once. Can you unscrew the expander from the die and use a dowel to tap the case out ? BTW, are you sizing military cases ?

Brand new dies need to be lubed well before you start loading. I take the expander ball stem out of new dies and clean it. Then I spray Hornady One-Shot into the dies bodies and on the expander plug and reassemble it.

I then put all my cases in a case block, mouth up and spray the lube in and around the case necks, rotate the case block and spray them again.

I let the lube dry then start relaoding.

              Military brass problems

I found that some military 30-06 is problematic. Anything with HXR (Greek) headstamp was really hard to deprime in my Lee press. It was such a pain I quit using that brass.

Lake City (LC) seems to be easy enough to use, in my experience. Just deprime, remove the crimp (a few turns with a philips head screwdriver works fine), and it is ready to go.

okay finally got it out, problem is/was i had the die set too low and the depriming pin set too high so the shell would wedge in( a lot easier than to get out) but lesson learned and one to remember.

One Shot is good but, Imperial Sizing Wax is the ONLY way to go.

But One Shot is easier to apply to multiple cartridges at once.. and it works well... I feel unless I'm only loading 25 or so at a time, it's too time consuming to use the imperial stuff.... however, there may be easier ways to apply it then I'm thinking...
