    Hydraulic Primer Press

anybody ever built a hydraulic primer press

Have a bunch of brass that's Berdan primed and could be reloaded, just needing to push the primers out before I modify the case to accept boxer primers

    other idea's appreciated

I've heard of people filling the case with water and knocking out the primer with water pressure by driving a punch into the case, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

    Like this.

    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

Use this one... MUCH less complicated.

I'd put a washer at the bottom of the tube holding the water to make a partial seal.

Make sure that the piston has a head/stop so it doesn't go in all the way and smash the rim

(a couple of nuts screwed onto the top of the piston should work to keep it from going in too deep).

Try using Brass so it won't corrode over time...

        Perfect, and way simple

Hell, I'm thinking even some PVC would work, cap the one end and add a hole for the primer to pop out
