Taper Crimp. Sounds like the reloader used a neck expander to much.

So I tried one round through the resizing die... Worked for the brass, but the bullet got resized too, making it drop. I'm just gonna buy a 9mm collet for my bullet puller.

Can't use sizing die to size loaded rounds. That's how you get keyholes from tumbling projectiles. Lee Factory Crimp Die is the answer if you don't want to pull them. BTW, kinetic puller works just as well and as safe.

You can use your shell holder in the bullet puller. no need for a special collet.

Why chance it? Pull em and re-use the bullets.

I have literally about 400lbs of ammo people have given me over the years. They will not get used in my guns. Period. When i'm bored, i'll pull the bullets and use em up one way or another. Reloaded or melted down, they will get used up.

I used them with reasonable success in a Helwan 9mm (worth maybe 100 bucks? lol) I also got from him... I think his charge of 4 grains Unique is rather light because I did get a stovepipe every 10-15 rounds when I did use the ammo in the past. (I pulled a few bullets last night and the charge was spot on)

I did take up the CG member on the offer for the Lee FCD though, but I still plan on redoing the rounds.

No more dangerous than normal reloading.

So I figured out the issue... pretty much my XD9 didn't like his OAL. It appears that his OAL was a few thousandths shy of the SAAMI max length. Slowly seated the bullet lower until MAGIC they chambered perfectly. Seems like the XD9 SC likes OAL at about of 1.085".
