When I shot molys, I used 4.3 gr of Titegroup with a 180gr Bear Creek moly bullet in my G22.
Some guys like their powder like their women, hot, cheap, dirty, that would be TiteGroup. -CocoBolo

I think I have been using 4.6-4.7 grains of Titegroup with 180gr jacketed bullets.

Light load=6.0gr Power Pistol under a 180gr boolit.

Full load=6.6gr Power Pistol under a 180gr boolit.

I really like Power Pistol burns clean and the gun is a Kalif legal flame thrower

Plus it works out with my 9mm & 45acp loading.

            9mm 6.0gr Power Pistol under a 115gr boolit.
            45acp 6.6gr Power Pistol under a 230gr boolit.

I have not been loading for .40 very long, but Vihtavuori N320 has been the cleanest, least smoking powder I have tried.

200 grain Bear Creeks with 4.0 grains of N320 loaded long.

                Blue Dot.

I've come close to filling the case, and compressing the crap out of it, and it's still within safe limits. This means it's impossible to overcharge, and any cases with insufficient powder would be easy to spot if you're lazy. It meters well and shoots easy.

Please do not use any of these loads without working up to them.

My load with N320 and 200 grain bullets will most likely NOT be safe loaded to SAAMI length (1.125"). I load them for a STI 2011 with the chamber throat reamed forward so I can load long (1.180"+).

Check out Brian Enos Forums for a lot of .40 S&W loads. Most of the work has already been done, you just have to work up to it from a safe starting point.

Here is a good list of .40 loads:

didn't realize you wanted a specific load.

9grns Blue Dot under a 165grn Berry's Plated FP and some CCI SPP with mixed brass for my normal plinking loads. Tested from 8 grains to 11 grains without significant signs of high pressure. It WILL be compressing the powder at the higher grain counts, but it's a non-issue.

180g TC Lead bullet seated to 1.135 COL

Light load: 3.5g Clays. 700-800 fps. Fully functional cycling, ridiculously low recoil, clean burning.
Moderate/Heavy load: 5.0g Bullseye. More like a "real" 40 S&W round. 1000 fps, 25.8 kpsi. No need to go any faster.

Unique will work in both cases, but will need 5.7g for the hotter load and like BE, will be very dirty at low pressures (4.2g for the light load, but expect unburned flakes and some gas blow back).

Light target loads: AA2 and Solo 1000
                            Major loads: Silhouette
Silhouette is the single most accurate powder in all my .40s, but it isn't that good for real light target loads (700 fps).
