    Blc-2

24gr of BLC-2 on a 75gr Hornady match with OAL of 2.250. Have a nice day....
Don't get all hung up on trying to make a bullet go fast. If you want 3,000 then try a 62gr or 55gr. But you will get real accurate shooting with what I gave you.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."--- Jeff Cooper---

        TAC

tac...use 23.4 grains for that load, it will get you out to 600 yards with ease and you will be stable and accurate too.

with a 77 grain smk and 23.4 of tac my 5 shot chrony is 2680 2685 2685 2683 2680...use all the same brass if you can.

        That's with a 20" RRA NM SS Barrel, 1/8 twist - burro 65 F 46% RH

K, looks like I need to pick up a 20" barrel sometime.

Yep, 2650 to 2700 is just fine for a 75-77gr at 600 yards. Even though a 20" bl will give you a longer powder burn time and some more fps, a 16" pushing a 75-77gr at just about 2600 fps is going to work just about as well at 600 yards. It won't get there as fast and will have a little more wind drift but it will still hold MOA or better if "you" can hold MOA or better

So I load Varget at 25gn since the Varget chart says max load and its 2900fps with 75gn bullet. Zeroed my scope, Nikon M-223, at 25 yards for 600 yard zero with the Nikon Spot On program. At the 600 yard match yesterday I was 3-4 feet high.

At the last string, I had 2 misses due to wind so I got 392 score out of 600. I at least beat two other guys using ar's with 20" barrels. There was a guy that had a ar-15 a2 doing iron sights with a 20" match barrel, he did pretty good and got over 500 score. Also, he was using a 82gn bullet.

As others have said 3000fps is unrealistic, but as far as ball powders are concerned that will meter well, I've used H335, but it is dirty, and temperature sensitive. I just recently purchased 8lbs. of CFE223 powder, which meters very well, and runs clean in my AR. I am still working up an accurate load using this powder, but I am getting sub-moa groups at 100yards. Max loads using this powder should get you around 2800fps with the 75gr bullets. I've also used Varget, and get very accurate loads from it, but it does not meter very well being a stick powder.
