So i finally am ready to start loading 45acp with bullseye and 230gr xtream plated rn and the Lymans manual states starting load of 3.8 gr with a max of 5.3 gr. and case length of .898 max and OAL of 1.275 and Diamater of .479 at case mouth with a crimped bullet.
My cases are measering at .885 +/- .002 and i have the seat depth set to 1.270 OAL with a crimp that i can not push the bullet in with my fingers, i forgot to measure the case diamater on the test rounds and forgot to take my barrels [ Kimber Custom 5" and Glock 21 ] with me to check the drop in and fall out witch i will do before i start loading up my test rounds.
On the powder test I have the Lee powder pro giving loads at 4.8 to 5.1
The goal on the powder drop was 5.0 gr so i think thats pretty close and consistant.
I'm planning on loading up 20 rds each at 4.4 / 4.7 / 5.0 to see how they work.
Would like your thoughts on my plans and if you think i'm doing any thing wrong,
Thanks, Steve
