    9X25 Dillon Data

    The normal warning

This data is good for MY gun, it may not work or be safe for you gun. Load accordingly....

I wanted to have more Blue Dot data but I ran out of brass when I was loading it so I only have one set of results...

You might want to re-chrono those loads, and test a known velocity load to verify that the chrono is setup right. The reason I say that, is that I was getting 300fps more with charges that were over 1.0gr less than yours.

Copied & Pasted from my post in the GT 9x25 Dillon Reloading Forum:

I also put (10) more of my 90gr XTP/12.2gr Longshot/CCI350 loads through the chrono, just to confirm the numbers from previous testing. They are consistent with my last chrono session, averaging 2048fps with an ES of 27.

I can't find mine, but here's some other data for 115gr JHP's & Blue Dot:

Sierra 115 gr JHP (.355 dia.)
              Winchester WLP primers
              5 shot strings

              11.5 gr. Blue Dot
              Velocity (fps)
              1) 1611
              2) 1562
              3) 1607
              4) 1561
              5) 1593
              Extreme Spread : 50

              12.0 gr. Blue Dot
              Velocity (fps)
              1) 1648
              2) 1651
              3) 1604
              4) 1641
              5) 1609
              Extreme Spread : 47

              13.0 gr. Blue Dot
              Velocity (fps)
              1) 1735
              2) 1700
              3) 1689
              4) 1696
              5) 1672
              Extreme Spread : 63

Longshot is the best powder I have used in the 9x25, getting the top velocities from 90gr-124gr & has great accuracy.

I will have to look into Longshot. Been using Silhouette because I had a pound sitting around. Got some Blue Dot to start loading 10mm and laded a test string for 9x25. You can feel the difference between the two, the Blue Dot recoil seemed much sharper.

I will load up some more Blue Dot tonight at 12 Gr. and use it to compare to the data you put up. I think I will get back out in about two weeks and I will put results up again.

How far back are you shooting from you Chrono?

I set my chrono up about 15ft from the bench, no less than 12ft.

Here's my 90gr XTP data. I know guys that have used the same data for 95gr JHP's, so you can atleast use it as a baseline.

another question is... i sized the brass from new starline 10mm brass... once the brass becomes 9x25 can it be resized to 10 mm again?

I wouldn't do that. Thats alot of stress on the brass. I dont even know if it would work.

I lube and size the brass with the Dillion dies, then use RCBS 9mm expander die to give the case mouth some flare so it will accept the bullet, after working the brass that much them firing it stretching it BACK to 10MM would probably cause issues.

                          Why would you want to?

Not sure have not had a case fail yet but I have alot of brass that I rotate through so I don't expect to have an issue for a while. I will keep shooting them until the neck splits or starts to look beat up.
