    Independence Casings

So I bought some bulk .45 (Independence brand). Took a couple boxes to the range and they fired good enough for the range. Got the casings back, cleaned them and I am now in the process of priming but the primers are too large for the pockets. Primer pockets were scraped and still won't fit. Anyone else ever have this problem? Can you enlarge/ream primer pockets? Any recommended fixes?

45ACP is typically a Large Pistol Primer. Some of the new stuff has Small Pistol Primer pockets.
Now if you're talking just a little difference in size, maybe you need to remove a crimp?
Can you post a pic? Crimps can be removed safely!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

Some reason the photos are flipped when I post them but you can still see. I placed it next to a Winchester casing above to show the difference. No problem priming the Win casing.

This is small primer brass, as it now typical for any newer Federal products that include CCI, Blazer Brass, Fed Champion (Walmart), Independence, Speer, etc. You have a choice.

            A) Toss or recycle it
            B) Separate it and reload it with SPP's just as you would large pistol primer 45ACP brass. Same charges, everything.

Since I separate by headstamp and also reload SPP 9mm, I use option B on my progressive press.

Huh, they show up on mine. I'll try a different site.

              Edit: Are they visible now?

Same deal here, no pictures. Did you copy the image link from your photo hosting account?

Really don't need the pictures, this is small primer brass pure and simple.

Appeared to be larger than small primers but I'll give it a shot. Thanks

Good deal, time to carry on. I love picking this stuff up at the indoor range because I can essentially guarantee it is once fired. Many folks absolutely despise this stuff and leave it. Even with a 30% loss rate for my 45ACP brass, I'll never run out as the SPP brass is available for the picking anytime.
