    Ammo and limit laws?

As I loaded another 1000 rounds of .45 yesterday, I couldnt help but wonder to myself if there are any limits or restrcitions on the amount of live ammo 1 family dwelling can have? I know their are gun powder limits, etc, but what about live ammo? A quick google search turned up frustrating as every is about the damn CA Condor

Thats what I was thinking. I don't think there is a law about ammo but that doesn't mean you won't be arrested and charged with something.

yea excessive ammo is just another charge in the court of public opinion but if it is otherwise legal ammo you can not have too much its just an orm-d consumer commodity

You will find it in the fire code. I looked it up many years ago and do not remeber exactly where or how much but it was A LOT. I remember because I have a lot of ammo from 22LR to 50BMG and I wasn't even close to the limit.

                  We just discussed this actually.

Keep in mind that depending on your homeowners policy they may have restrictions above and beyond the state requirements.

They got him on having too much blackpowder, not too much ammo.
If the powder in loaded in cartridges, there does not seem to be a problem.

Talking to some people that actually had their hands on that mans bundle of ammo (1.6 million rounds??), it seems most of it that survived the fire ordeal was given back.

omg you have to be young. that was the news story of the year. everyone knew about it. it was all over the news for days. the original video showed the guy freaking out when his house was on fire. then as they put it out they kept on bringing out guns and ammo. i think they even showed a underground dug out in his garage where he kept some of the powder.

Haha, after they controlled the fire, I could still hear rounds cooking off faster than Knob Creek.

I dont know how I missed that. Not young, 32, probably just because I work 60-70 hours a week. I know that feeling though, as my house burned to the ground in Aug of 06 and I had like 8000 rounds. The firemen were all lookin at me funny, but I didn't tell them how much it was, just that it was there.
