    Freedommunitions .40 FTF :(

Good evening Gents, I recently purchased 1000 rounds of .40 from Freedommunitions, and while shooting 200 rounds out of a Glock 22 and XD-40 I had 28 FTF. I got about equal FTF from either gun, and I tried reloading them in opposing guns and still nothing. Would you guys continue to shoot the questionable ammo and hope for the best or should I contact Freedommunition to see if they'll try and work something out? I know it never hurts to ask, but I don't know if I'm asking for to much?

    Thanks for any advice

That's almost a 15% fail rate. Totally unacceptable in my book. Clearly, you are getting good strikes with your firing pin ... so something else is going on there.

I would not hesitate to send them your pics ... and a copy of this thread, for that matter. Depending how they handle the situation may result in their best marketing move ever (after you post the positive results) ... or their worst ever. It's their choice.

Those strikes are fine, they need to take back what you have left and send you 1000 new ones.

It maybe me but from most of those cartridges looks like the primers are on the deep side hence the light firing pin indentation. Looks like two or three of the cartridges you attemped to re-fire them since it's been double struck marking. I'd take them back as others have stated. Another possibility is if those cases are on the very short side lenght wise. That can also cause FTF since .40s&w headspaces at the mouth.

I think with the Glock and the XD, while officially they headspace on the case mouth, in reality they headspace on the extractor if they are short.

They've been awesome for me. I would contact them and I'll bet they send a whole new batch or throw you a free case. Solid company that backs their product.

We had a problem with some primers we used in some 40sw. I will send a replacement today and a return label so I can get a credit from my supplier for thee ammo. Please put the label on the ammo and call UPS for a pickup. Sorry for the issue and Thank You for the bussiness.

I'll have to check into that. Hopefully my Google Fu is strong this morning. Thanks.

That is great customer service! I have used their reloads in 9 and .38 without a problem, so this was an anomaly. They handled it like pros!

In that response was what I was going to say MAY have been the issue; PRIMERS....they MAY have used CCI primers. I've had nothing but trouble seating them as well as FTF. Alot of guys like them but I will never use them again unless I don't have choice.
