Hah, i've seen most of these pictures before, good to see them again from time to time. The ones that make me really sad are when you see the failure that destroys the suppressor.

So many barrel obstructions. Lots of walther pot-metal failures on the slides. A few legit overpressure KBs, a few revolvers with over-sensitive primers (or an over-pressure that ignited the chambers to the sides as it blew).

And then my favorite. The barrel test, where they were trying to blow up a barrel by shooting into a squib repeatedly with non-squib loads. You can see the barrel fully backed up with bullets, yet it never ruptured. The action and barrel were intact.

Wow! I should be weighing more than just my 5.56mm cartridges, but my 9mm.

Time to start sorting 9mm brass by weight, then double checking that too...

Can't tell if you're kidding, but you can't find a double charge in 9mm even if you sort your brass. Too much inconsistencies in the bullet.

Just look into each case before you place a bullet and you're GTG.

Thank goodness I have a powder check with my Dillon XL 650.

One less thing to worry about.

Comments like this make me nervous Myke. I hope you aren't solely depending on a powder check die. They can and have failed before. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.
The easiest way to prevent a double charge is also the cheapest. Simply look into every case before placing a bullet.

In addition, many kabooms aren't caused by a double charges. They are caused by bullet setback in a load that is already pushing the limits.

The Dillon powder check die works great for rifle rounds where it's much harder to see down in the case, even with light.

For pistol rounds it's helpful but so is looking into the case.

One thing I like about auto-indexing progressives is since the brass is moving after each pull of the handle it greatly reduces the chance of double-charge. Just be VERY careful when measure powder or fixing any problems that you don't 'lose track' of where you're at.

No double charge concerns, but I could load a squib with no powder, and the following round would be aftermath of a double-charge... I assume.

Range brass that I pickup can vary 5gr (2.5 up, 2.5 down), with 5gr powder I could load a squib, and not even know it.

I have one too, but it was so quiet that would be less noise than the handle cranking. I have to send mine back for an RMA, but I have just been lagging.
