JUST bought my first reloading press!

I did a good deal of my own research and a deal came my way so I just ordered a brand new RCBS Pro 2000 with Auto Indexing. Also decided to pick up their swager bench tool since I have a lot of 5.56 brass I need to prep.

I know there is still a lot more stuff I need... I haven't ordered any dies or accessories, but I took the plunge into reloading... finally.

Check into the RCBS X-die. It'll make your life so much easier. Just trim once and then never again.

Yes yes... I read enough Dillon threads to get my fair share of Dillon fanboyism... I figure ill just stick to the Glock forums if I want to hear it.

I just picked what features and operation were important to me. I think I will like the primer strip system, just looks good to me.

Got it at PSA and receiver 20% off the entire setup so I figured that's was a good start...

I intend to start with pistol calibers... primarily .45 ACP and 9mm, but the end goal is to punch out .223 for plinking since ammo prices and driving me nuts.

I would like to try making .223 and .308 match ammo on a progressive press, but ive also leared its ideal to use a single stage press, but I hear the powder measure on the RCBS is very good, so ill give it a try and see what my results are like.

If anyone has any must have items that I would need to get in addition to this please let me know.

Great choice. Don't hesitate to call big green (RCBS) If you have any problems they truly stand behind their lifetime guarantee.

X Dies for rifle (it will save you trim time in the future)
Carbide dies for pistol.
If the powder measure didn't come with the little baffle get one.

The RCBS powder measure works great on most powders. When you start with a new powder use a dryer sheet on the outside to reduce the static cling from the powder then run about 20 charges back into the bottle and it will throw consistent all day after that.

I got a cheap Lyman trimmer for rifle brass (I would recommend the drill adapter for it), and cheap kinetic puller (I think they all are compatible I went with ECBS, but the Berry's shell-holders work with it). You'll need those in the beginning, and then later too.

I just want to focus on 1 thing at a time so I will probably start reloading 9mm or .45 ACP first until I get the hang of it and learn more.

The purchase of this press was a little premature but I went for it anyways as I am still learning about the entire process but I have a good basic understanding.

For .308 ammo the end goal would be to make match ammo, and occasionally some 77gr SMK .223 rounds for my target AR-15.

You never know, this might be the gateway drug which gets me into some more exotic calibers like 6.5, 6.8 SPC or .338 Laupa.

Starting with 9mm or 45acp is a great idea.
