Reloading Class at Angeles

Has anyone done this? Worth it the money or is it easy enough to get a Reloading book and go to town?

How much is it? I just finished reading my Lyman manual for a 2nd time but adding a class like this this would be a great combination to actually see how it's done. Plus you get the opportunity to ask questions after you learn something right then n' there. Thought I heard Bass pro has done classes & maybe another shop(Fowlers?)

Reading is great, but if you can go watch the process and ask questions you'll gain quite a bit in my opinion.

FieldTime in Westminster usually has at least one class per month. Looks like there is one this weekend. It's free and it can get crowded, seems more folks are getting into reloading.

Bob, the owner, and guy who gives the class does a great job. This is not the new range, it's at the store on Beach Blvd.

Oaktree gun club also has reloading classes. I was debating over ASR and Oak Tree. Decided on Oak Tree for location, new classroom, and 10% of reloading supplies after taking the class. During the class Brian Dillon went over safety, history, and the process of reloading pistol and rifle rounds. We loaded up 45 colt and 30-06. I can tell you watching the videos and reading does not relay all info needed. Their are nuances you will pick from having someone walk you through the process. I initially thought you had to apply a lot of pressure, but its more finesse. Cost of the class was $135.

I think we are talking about the same guy. Stoned face and looks like he may want to kick your arse. I believe he works at oak tree now, at least he was there when I took my class in last weekend. All I see is that blonde at ASR. Then again I only go on wed and sunday at ASR.

Rolf no longer works at Angeles, he is now at Oak Tree Gun Club. When dealing with him, stick to business, don't try to be his friend, don't ask questions about competitors and don't ask him to look **** up that you could have done yourself. I actually get along with him and he even starts conversations with me.. surprisingly. And yes, I did start off as a noob dealing with him with all my dumb-*** questions. Once he warms up, he's very helpful. Good luck OP. Also, Brian @ OTGC is very knowledgeable.

I was looking into that also, however I was a little to late. I wanted to know what presses they reload on? Are they single stage or progressive? I have a lot of questions because like many others I've read on my own and was taught by my uncle, but I always want a +1 on reloading because there are so many different ways of doing things.

There is a reloading class up North in livermore, but I dont think I will be making the drive out there for the class. Its a little costly also.

I guess I'll have to keep my ears and eyes peeled for the next reload class locally.

The press you use is a RCBS rock chucker single stage press. Also loaded on a old school lyman hand press for the 45 colt. He goes into the benefits of reloading on each press but for the newb he strongly recommends a single stage. One thing cool about Brian he has great communication even after the class. Hope this info helps
