Any Dillon-600 swager owners here? (SOLVED!)

Man I really hate this swager. Here are some the problems I am having. I am starting to wonder if they are all like this.


Non-concentric swag (if crimp is off-centered the swager swages the easy side and leaves the sharp crimped edge remaining)

Cannot get enough adjustment before the brass hits the plate on the way down. Small amount of crimp isnt enough to seat primers.

Different amount of swag on all brass even same headstamp.

Completely different swag on same headstamp but different year (ex: LC-10 LC-09)

Called the big D and they have no clue.

I have the Dillon 600 Swage, so far I havent had any issues and have swaged differnt brass for .223 and .308. You might need to play with the adjustments a bit. You can also spin the case after the first swage and see if that makes a difference

1-What I've found was burrs around the flash holes kept the case from going all the way onto the stem. I know it's a bit of a pain but if you clean up the flash holes, that should fix the problem.

2-This should help with this problem as well. But, you may also have to sort according to different year. Thinking it could be a difference in head thickness. Just an idea as I've not run into this.

I adjust mine alittle deep. Then I swage using feel. You will get the hang of it fast. Just do not try to smash it down if adjusted deep. I do not have to sort brass this way and get a good job done. I know it is not the way Dillon says to do it but it works.

Something was wrong with my unit. I just went and bought another and its working much better. I will return the one I have for repair and when it comes back I will sell it. I still have the some tight and some loose feeling when swaging. The primers seat like greased butter very loose on some brass and normal on others. I hope to hell I dont have primers popping out all day long as I shoot.

I fired 150rds today and NO popped primers so I guess I am GTG.
