650 VS 1050

So I know the 1050 can swag but what are the other big draws for 1,000 more? I am assuming brass prep and brass loading is done during two separate stages or jobs?

Is it faster?
I wont ever use a motor drive so that's out.

The 1050 isn't really faster than a 650 at all. I don't think there's enough room to run the trimmer on it along with the other dies to do it all at once, but I may be wrong....but I have read that over and over.

Assuming you can't trim and do everything at once, it's pretty much the same thing as the 650 speed wise except it swages and it primes on the downstroke. Swaging isn't a big deal for me, and I don't like priming on the downstroke, you lose the feel when seating a primer.

Being that it's basically the same speed, the cost for a 1050, caliber change cost, and lack of the "no BS warranty" steered me clear of it.

I went with the 650. Theres a mod on the 1911 forums that has a room setup with 3 1050's. He must reload commercially or something

i have a super 1050 that i got for a good price 2nd hand. so far ive learned that caliber conversions are very pricy, the unit comes with a case feeder, and seems to have a strong following of those who love their 1050s. other than that, buy a 650.

No lifetime warranty & caliber conversions are extremely expensive. No advantage I can see unless you have more money than you know what to do with.

ive only loaded once fired 45acp on it so i cant tell if theres a difference as you would with a rifle case.
