    Lee pro 1000?

I just got a lee pro 1000 and I'm using my rcbs 45acp derpime die and on the upstroke when I'm suppose to deprime it does not line up in the die, I have to line up the brass manually. What am I doing wrong?

Have you adjusted the shellplate carrier indexing? There's a screw on the carrier that does this. I usually have to do this when I swap out carriers. The pro 1000's instructions explain all of this.

Is your carrier aligned correctly? Check out the videos http://leeprecision.com/pro-1000-help-videos.html make sure your dies are setup correctly too.

I just spoke to lee and I think here is the problem, the rcbs die's don't have a funnel shape on the bottom to funnel the case in.

Yep, that funnel-shape helps. Lee dies hava a slight rounding-off on the bottom to help with this (and it does help quite a bit). Dillon dies have an even more pronounced funneling for presses like the Super-1050.

Did you ever get around to reading the reloading books that were strongly recommended to you based on your questions in your earlier thread?

              That is crucial.

It's the only operation that is performed by something that is actually a die. The rest are mounted punches in die bodies.

Your shellplate may be loose on the carrier. Check this as it will cause the exact problem you're describing.

I also noticed that my shell loader (black plastic piece that moves shell from tube to plate) can get "slow" after about 1k rounds and not push the brass all the way into the shell plate in time when I am in a rhythem. I drop a small amount of graphite lube into the grooves of the plastic piece to get it back on track.
On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Also, remember that it's backwards from "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey". When you hold the shell plate still, you use your hex wrench to turn the drive bolt counterclockwise to tighten it (clockwise to loosen).

                        I hate RCBS dies.
