Elmer Keith isn't the only person who has recommended standard primers with 2400. The powder manufacture, Alliant, also recommends standard primers with 2400 after they've tested it under lab conditions. Also, Speer has changed their opinion on using magnum primers since #12. "We developed new data with Alliant 2400 propellant. Changing from magnum to standard primers significantly improved its performance compared to the data in Speer Manual #12."The other powders you listed especially 296/H110 can benefit from using mag primers.

Plenty of people have used magnum primers with 2400 and that's fine as long as you work up your load and take into consideration the powder company does not recommend magnums. However, telling someone they should use magnums with 2400 when two reliable sources actually don't recommend that, is not giving the person who's asking the question the whole story. Also, 2400 is an outstanding powder for cast bullets, and there are tons of people out there who have used it with great success.

And ALL loads in just about any caliber will burn cleaner with higher charges or near max loads.

You and I both don't use 2400 and read the same posts. For 1 source that says to use mag primer the other says otherwise For 1 person that says it doesn't burn clean the other says it does. OP, this is part of the fun of reloading. Work up your load and try different combinations till you're satisfied.

I'm not sure I understand your post, but I do use 2400 and I've used it with magnum and standard primers.
