    Primers @ Bass Pro Shops

I was just up at the humongous Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga and they had Remington primers there that were less expensive than the lot that I had just purchased thru Powder Valley and best of all, no HAZ MAT fees! They were low on stock however, probably because of the recent run up in ammo prices therefore more people reloading? They also had a lot of Hornady bullets and some Sierra's.
If you get a chance to visit one of their stores, they are very, very impressive in size and scope. They have a fresh water tank with huge large mouth bass that must be at least 5 pounds. There was also this little creek that had a 4 pound trout swimming around. I kid you not! In their "fine gun room" they had a Bertuzzi(sp?) that was selling for get this $300,000!! Check it out people.

The only one I asked about was Varget and 1 lb was $23.00. I asked about 8 lbs containers but they don't stock those.

I drive by that store every day to and from work. Online they show NOTHING reloading wise so I figured why bother stopping in the store.

I'll be going by Tuesday morning to pick up primers!

The only thing about that place is the system they use to help people....you take a number and nobody knows you are alive until your number is called. A simple "I'll be right with you" would be nice.....There are always a crap load of ppl waiting and it does not seem worth the wait....

I was gonna buy some brass too- but their reloading guy on the floor said that the Winchester stuff was bad news right now b/c the quality had changed....Then why do they sell it? Kinda frustrated me......cool place but I don't know if its worth the headache of conflicting info and bad cust service.

I'm sure some have had positive experiences there though....just my .308 cents
"The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory...."

            primers

Justin...I would probably call them first to see if they have the primers and the quantity you desire. One of the guys in the dept said that the reloading section was hit pretty hard recently.

Thanks, but they won't have the quantity I desire. I'll still be ordering almost 20k in a week or two either way.

shoot!...I was just in the las vegas store... I flew, but in a private prop-jet..shoulda grabbed a little something as they did seem to have a couple of aisles for reloading components at reasonable prices. no tsa was nice.

All but the Remington primers were way over priced (some $32/1k!). Bought the last 3 bricks of 7 1/1's for $18 each. Only empty shelf in that area!

Powder was way high too. You have to ask to see the handwritten price list, and get a specific associate to open the "powder room" to get your desired go juice.

I got Remington 7.5's there for just under 19.00 for 1000. The cheapest I found them anywhere else was 22.50 per 1000 and that's before the Haz Mat fee. If they stay at that price(doubtful), I'll buy more!

                        Yeah. "Bench Rest" 6-1/2's basically.

                          Justin,

Are you still going though with the group buy? The basspro shop might be easier for me. I am in your area, but seems like a hassel. All I need right now is 1000 223 primers. Let me know

So what does a sleeve of Win small pistol primers cost there?

FC- Yes, I'm still buying my bulk order of 20k+ primers and bunch of powder. Nobody else has committed more than just a post or PM.

Elsolo- I remember them being around $27. I was shocked as I've been pricing and finding all brand of primers in the >$20 range when bought either in bulk or under a dealer accounts online.
