I am sure this has been addressed before but I think I am hgaving a new issue.
I have followed the instruction to the letter(plus watched the videos online)..I get the ball and nib lined up and the plate hand tightened down. At this point I can manually index the machine in the up position by wiggling the little indexer niblever. But when I continue to index the machine with the hand lever ..two things happen.
1. The shell plate wont turn..not because it is not lined up withthe ball and little arm nib..but because it is seated too tightly....then..
2. when I loosen the center bolt enough to make it turn, after 2 or 3 pulls it backs out the center bolt so it is not even seated any longer..then wont index at all.
This is very odd..any help?
UPDATE!!!
Put in different shell plate and adjusted the indexing plates..and wvallah..worked. The first shell plate I used is defective.
