The Berger Bullets Ballistics Calculator uses BCs (G1 or G7) to calculate trajectory and account for any external factors that may effect bullet performance

JBM ballistics engine is used in Ballistic which is free on the apple store for iphone/ipad.
I bought Ballistic FTE for $20 around 15 years ago which is now branded as Ballistic AE and seems to be free now.
I think it's the best ballistic program there is on a phone which makes it most useful at the range, especially when you have a handheld weather station to put in the actual pressure, temp and humidity where you are shooting.

Thanks, I don't own any Apple electronics, I use it on the PC at home to build range sheets before I go out to shoot. I correct then with pen/ink to fine tune them out to 500 yards here at home. Then I build them for expected temperatures and elevation for hunting trips.

I have a gen3 Mini I pad I will send to you for free if you cover the cost of shipping. I kept it around be cause the trade in value is like $20 on a good day so I didn't even bother. I'll even load Balistic on it for ya. Think of it as my thanks for inviting me shoot at that 800 yd range north of Ventura years ago.

If you have an android phone, the good one used to be "Shooter".
It would basically do everything that Ballistic FTE would do, but it was available on Android.

Printing out dope sheets is 1990's tech.
It's time to empower your phone and do active ballistic calculations right at the shooting bench.
You start with a basic known-info and see what it calculates.
Then you shoot with that solution and see how far off the solution is.
Then you tune the ballistics solver to correct it to match your actual dope in actual conditions.
Once setup, the next time you simply enter the new current absolute pressure and temperature and it should accurately solve for the actual conditions you are in.
Altitude is not even a factor once you have absolute station pressure where you are standing as the pressure changes with altitude and you enter the actual pressure where you are standing.

I'm old and usually don't have that much time when hunting. The smallest targets and furthest shots that I take anymore are up to 500 yards at skunk and raccoon sized targets.

                        Mike,

Thanks for the offer. I appreciate it, but I'm already hauling enough electronics along to the range. Sometimes I have more electrnic systems than guns with me. I use a radar chronograph, electronic target system and just added the new long range target camera.

I use Blue Steel Pro from the App Store. It is especially good for long range and high angle shooting.

Download Blue Steel Pro by Blue Steel Ballistics LLC on the App Store. See screenshots, ratings and reviews, user tips, and more apps like Blue Steel Pro.

I'm using Hornady 4DOF. There is a bit of a learning curve and setup. The biggest problem I've seen is it occasionally won't work out if cell range, which makes it less useful at my range.

I wouldn't mind something lighter weight like JBM, but haven't looked around.
