As a guy who still uses his RockChucker from the 20th century, I wondered what you fine folks think about this article. I thought I was one of the cool kids because I do have a Dillion 550. I guess it is time for me to go to the old folks home.

I've had an auto indexing press since the 1990's

I have a press from the 1940's that I use for precision rifle and hunting ammo

Ridiculous. I load about 10k a year on mine.

Over the years, I have owned all the different Dillon presses other than the Square Deal.
I currently have a pair of 1050's, a pair of 650's and a 550.
I would never be without the 550 because the conversion of the press between calibers is so much easier than any of the auto-indexing presses with casefeeders.
I think I have about 25 different 550 conversions and I can load almost every cartridge between 22 hornet and 458 win mag on that press.
I use the 550 for small batches of 1000 or less rounds as I can load about 400 rounds/hr on a 550.
I have dedicated 1050's for 9mm and 223 that I never convert.
I have a 650 just for case processing of 223 brass that I don't convert.
Then the other 650 is for larger runs where I don't need to swage primer pockets.
