Primer prices dropping, availability is improving

While many retailers are still holding on to their higher "panic" prices, new inventory is now showing up for relatively reasonable prices. At the last gun show I bought Magtech LR primers for $40/1,000, and the same for LP., and the vendor had a good supply. There were other tables that still had dusty old boxes for at, near, or over $100, they weren't moving.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Reminds me when my son and I went to a gun show during the Obama reign (1st ) and a guy was selling 100 rounds of .22 for $100. He told my son better jump on them because they're going fast. My son's reply was "I'm going to look around, they'll still be here if I can't find a better deal."

Check Miwall for good prices on primers.

I buy from them when they're at local gunshows. You have to pay sales tax but no shipping or hazmat.

In November of 2024 I bought 5K of Federal small pistol for $85 per K out the door.
In November of 2025 I bought 5K of Federal small pistol for $65 per K out the door.
Magtech primers were even cheaper .

Phillips Wholesale said Winchester lowered their primer prices by 30%.

Yep, I'll probably start stocking up again. I need to start bulk loading and use up some of my old components too.

I’m back up to ~70K primers. I even bought 5K SRPs for < $200 factory seconds. I loaded up 100 .223 with them and had 0 problems. I’m going to load up 500 more and see how those go. If all’s well, I’ll probably buy another 5-10K just for funsies.

The Magtech primers are the way to go. They work great and are less expensive.
